Why wont people realize that high gas prices are good?

Would you rather drive a more efficient car instead of an SUV, or allow temperatures to rise enough for malaria to spread across North America, both coasts to be routinely hit by hurricanes, and rain to be nearly constant? Also, when will people accept that nuclear power is the best option. It works now and it produces zero pollution. We need to ban internal combustion engines and have all cars powered by electricity from nuclear power plants.
