What types of shots / vaccines / medications needed for vacation in Peru (including Amazon)?

While none are required, it is recommended that you are immunized for Hepatitis A and B, Typhoid, Yellow Fever and Rabies in addition to the Malaria medication. You should also have your MMR and Tetanus-Diptheria shots up to date. Your family doctor can arrange all of the necessary vaccinations. You also should have plenty of insect repellent, long clothing and mosquito nets for sleeping if you are outside or in unscreened quarters. Dengue Fever, for which there is no prophylaxis, is transmitted by mosquitoes, and sand flies can transmit several different diseases to humans.
