IPhone 4 front camera makes me look sooo bad?

ok so when i look in the mirror my face/skin tone looks pretty good and even, only a few minor bumps and pimples, but when i look in the iphone 4 front camera my face appears sooo red and blotchy! i look soo much worse than in a mirror!! why does it look this way?? does this happen to anyone else?
